Monoclinic phases are considered to be the origin of high piezoelectricity in various piezoelectric systems. In article number 1700226, Jing‐Feng Li and co‐workers describe how (K,Na) NbO3 epitaxial films undergo a thermal‐induced phase transition from monoclinic MC phase to monoclinic MA phase, and that this results in enhanced piezoelectricity at the phase boundary. Their findings suggest it may be possible to to achieve high piezoelectricity through monoclinic phases or monoclinic phase transition in leadfree piezoelectric materials.
