Facial ageing reflects ageing in other parts of the body. When high quality photographs of the faces of 2700 middle aged and older participants in a longitudinal study were assessed by a panel without knowledge of their chronological age and medical history, people whose perceived age was lower than their chronological age were less likely to have osteoporosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hearing loss, or cataracts.
