(Research Unit Technician / Bioinspired Soft Matter Unit)

Position Summary

The Bioinspired Soft Matter unit (https://groups.oist.jp/bsmu  ) at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University is seeking qualified application for a Research Unit Technician. Current research in the lab revolves around cancer treatment and tissue engineering via active and soft matter design based on pure chemical system.

Responsibilities

The hired individual will get involved with a number of research activities in the lab including: managing lab databases, procuring lab supplies and materials, and performing miscellaneous tasks to support lab research. In addition, there are exciting opportunities to become an expert in molecular biology, animal experiments and cancer research.

Qualifications (Required)

•Bachelor or higher degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related scientific disciplines.

•Ability to run basic biological lab experiments, including but not limited to plasmid construction, electrophoresis and cell culture. With experience in animal experiments will be highly encouraged but not essential.

•Ability to think logically and work systematically and accurately

•Ability to effectively communicate in English.

As soon as possible (Negotiable)

Term & Working hours:

Term: Term: Full-time, initial appointment for 1 year with renewable contract for maximum 3 years. Contract initially with 3-month probationary period (inclusive).

Working hours: 9:00-17:30 (Discretionary)

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation in accordance with the OIST Employee Compensation Regulations

Benefits:

Annual salary: 3.0M yen – 4.5M yen (commensurate with experience)
