Two steps forward… Copper-exchanged metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) show tunable basicity, activity, and selectivity in C−C bond-forming reactions. Herein, these MOFs are used as selective heterogeneous catalysts for the one-pot, two-step (Henry reaction/Michael-type addition) synthesis of neuroactive pharmaceutical intermediates starting from nitromethane and benzaldehyde.
