Synthesis of ZnO Nanoparticles Assisted by N Sources and their Application in the Photodegradation of Organic Contaminants

N-doped ZnO nanoparticles were obtained by an easy method assisted by urea or melamine molecules, which improved the physicochemical properties of ZnO. Modified ZnO showed high photoactivity for degradation of methylene blue dye and ethionamide antibiotic. The mechanism of the pollutants photodegradation catalyzed by as-synthesized ZnO is proposed.
